"While my son walked deserts under foreign suns,
I painted in silence—
Straight lines, hard angles—
a machine’s heart rendered in paint,
cold, clinical, precise—
the world he was dropped into.
But from that rigid form,
soft prisms of light spilled from within—
rainbows whispering through circuitry and shadow.
They arced like prayers from home,
silent bridges stretching over distance and dread.
Sacred spectrums—
graceful,
the only language I had
to say:
“I see you. Come back whole.”
